Sidney Abram Weltmer

[edit]

You have deleted the major part of this text with the reason that it was copyrigted... By LAW, the copyright has expired ... So by LAW you cannot have justified this with this criteria, unless you invented a new law. Second, it was not only with these books, but I have collected a whole bunch of information and I have reformated the whole thing. Here is what you did, you read some paragraph and compare it to some reference that I have given and than concluded that it was a copyvio without looking at the dates and without looking to see if I had included a lot more information that in the books. I have put the efforts and energy so that you delete it without asking or putting a notice... What kind of policy you follow? Certainly not the policies of the Wikipedia Community. I would suggest to you to be careful next time and to make sure before you delete precious material of others. And especially, if you want to delete something, give notice on the page that you want to delete something and the reasons, like professional editors do. And I would suggest to you, to do research on Sidney Weltmer and develop more this page. It is nice to delete peoples work, but it is nicer to contribute your own. I would like to see more info on this guy on this page and I am sure that 99% of people would like more info than less, especially when the copyright was expired a long time ago. So you know what to do. --Fady Lahoud (talk) 03:32, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you might not have been aware the issue was discussed here. Chunks of Weltmer's autobiography can't be stated as fact in WP's voice, Per WP:PLAGARISM, public-domain content is plagiarized if used without acknowledging the source. - LuckyLouie (talk) 15:41, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have acknowledge the source and even made a link to the source plus other sources, that is how you knew where did I took parts of it. What is for you Acknowledging the source... ??? I have decided to take this all the way to the END. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fady Lahoud (talkcontribs) 17:39, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
By the way do not forget to work and add on this text yourself since you took the initiative to delete it.--Fady Lahoud (talk) 17:43, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In text attribution could be used for reasonable quotes of a primary source, in this case an autobiography by Weltmer. However as seen in an earlier version of the article massive sections of text were cut and pasted without any distinction as to their importance to the topic, i.e. not every word that Weltmer wrote about himself needs to be covered in the article. - LuckyLouie (talk) 23:05, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
