Who was in charge of the British defense?
[edit]This article speaks of William Draper as commanding on the British side, but another source (https://archive.org/details/stringerlawrence00biddrich/page/102/mode/2up?view=theater) claims that the governor, Pigot, and the council had control, although they deferred militarily to Stringer Lawrence, the senior officer in India at the time. Draper's newly-arrived 79th Regiment made up 900 of the 1600 Europeans in the garrison. Could someone with more expertise correct me or the text? Wendigo Lake (talk) 14:08, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
