Peter

[edit]

Why was St. Peter the picture for this page? I changed it to St. Simon the Apostle. 24.191.87.42 (talk) 02:53, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I get it no, he was Simon before he was Peter. It is still less confusing with Simon the Zealot there instead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.191.87.42 (talk) 21:03, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Νone of the existing four references (e.g. 2,5,6,7) provide conclusive proof that Σίμων (Simon) comes from Σιμός (simos) and that it means "stub" nosed. As a Greek who can read ancient Greek fluently, I have never heard of this word before. Revision please?!
