I have an issue with the intro paragraph

[edit]

"The majority of studies on sleep creativity have shown that sleep can facilitate insightful behavior and flexible reasoning, and there are several hypotheses about the creative function of dreams. On the other hand, a few recent studies have supported a theory of creative insomnia, in which creativity is significantly correlated with sleep disturbance."

The usage of "on the other hand" implies what I believe to be a false dichotomy. What I mean by that is that they could both be true as well as both be false, as opposite states of consciousness (not even opposites in this case exactly, just shared in that they're both sleep-related). There are many inspirations for creativity and I'm speaking as someone who randomly found this article due to searching for help with my recent creative sparks. Some have felt dream induced and others perhaps insomnia induced. Obviously personal anecdotes aren't valid sources but I hope the logic I gave earlier follows easily to any reader. 49.199.248.234 (talk) 00:00, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
