merge proposal

There has been a proposal to merge this article with "Ascended Master Teachings". I disagree with this. It would be the same as suggesting merging "Bishop (Catholic Church)" or "Purgatory" with the article on the "Roman Catholic Church". Arion (talk) 23:43, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About Meher Baba's Hierarchy

The recent added comment by Tom1New is clearly well-intended, but simply untrue. The comment reads, "To be clear, the construct of 'Spiritual Hierarchy' was used prior to its adoption in Theosophy by Meher Baba and Sai Baba of Shirdi and Theosophy has altered the original explanation of its structure rather significantly." Mention of the hierarchy appears in The Secret Doctrine (1888) and Meher Baba was born in 1894. I cannot speak for what Sai Baba said. The editor should give a reference. It is impossible that Blavatsky distorted teachings by Meher Baba, and doubtful she had access to discourses by Sai Baba of Shirdi. If she distorted an earlier doctrine it is not clear whose. Third party sources

I would note that a tiny amount of criticism on the topic of Masters of the Ancient Wisdom (Theosophy) does not amount to third party coverage of this topic, and provides no reason whatsoever not to merge or delete this article. Hrafn^Talk_Stalk^(P) 08:06, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
