Full Power before turn
[edit]Hello everyone,
From my point of view (and based on what my instructor told me) correct entry procedure is to roll the airplane first, and then to apply power as the angle of bank go through 30°. In the article, the power is applied during the straight and level flight phase.
By increasing power during the straight and level flight, airspeed will increase slightly before you go into the roll which is an unwanted effect. Power is only added to counteract the airspeed loss due to the nose-up attitude (required to maintain altitude)during the turn.
