What about the pipe music?

[edit]

What about the pipe music which accompanies the dance? I'd have to dig out my pipe stuff, but when I was drumming for a pipe band I remember strathspeys being harder to get a feel for. I would prefer to leave the subject to a real expert though, as I knew many. Khiradtalk 22:29, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Positions of 'snaps'?

[edit]

"In the New World, the Cape Breton strathspey differs from its Scottish cousins in that the "snaps" can come at any point in the measure"

OK, so there are rules as to where they can some in a traditional Scottish Strathspey? What are they? No mention of them in the text to this point. EphenStephen (talk) 21:06, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
