Small Radar System

[edit]

"The third type uses a very small radar system to show exactly where the edges of a stud are behind the wallboard(sheetrock)."

Can anyone provide a reference for this? I have been scouring the web, but can not find any record of any stud-finders that work this way. Ingling 17:34, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware of one product that I think works on this principle.  It's sold as the “Walabot DIY”.  I came to this article, trying to find out more information about it, hoping to find come coverage from a neutral source that wasn't invested in trying to sell it.  Bob Blaylock (talk) 12:32, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
See US Patent 5,774,091 for a discussion on the radar range finder. --Justzisguy 16:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The existence of a patent does not indicate that stud-finders using radar would be among the "main types", not even that one of this type has ever been produced. I removed this as unreferenced. --84.75.61.124 (talk) 07:23, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As Ingling requested, I added references to this article that discuss radar stud finders, and showing that a few radar stud-finders have been produced. I agree that they are not yet one of the "main types". --DavidCary (talk) 20:30, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
