Sidney or Sydney

Is it OK if I rename the article from "Sydney" to "Sidney"? The newspapers from 1933 in the archives of the Royal Library of the Netherlands all seem to refer to the guy as Sidney:

I've received the following comment on my talk page about the above:

I would leave the name as "Sydney," since that is the name the book is indexed under on the Library of Congress's online catalog. It did not come up when i looked for "Sidney." NRPanikker (talk) 07:50, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
