Feedback from New Page Review process

[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Thanks for creating this article! I've marked it as reviewed, but I would strongly suggest upgrading the sourcing. Right now there are number of claims that should be referenced and the sources that are used aren't quite the Wikipedia gold standard. As someone who has written these kinds of articles, I often find it useful to check for sources in The Oxford Handbook of X or The Cambridge Companion to X-type volumes, for various values of X.

Just as a curious reader, I would suggest adding more information about how this field is different from other branches of quantitative linguistics. And it can also be useful in these sorts of articles to provide a worked-through concrete example, though of course this can be hard depending on the subject matter and the availability of reliable sources.
