Tecovasaurus is not an ornithischian[edit]

Irmis (2005) noted that the holotype of Tecovasaurus cannot be used to assign this genus to Ornithischia and instead suggests that Tecovasaurus is an indeterminate archosauriform, thus assiging Tecovasaurus to Archosauriformes incertae sedis. Crosbysaurus, Galtonia, Lucianosaurus, Pekinosaurus, and Protecovasaurus, described as possible basal ornithischians, are also probably non-dinosaurian archosauriforms, as recent research suggests.
