Translation Project

[edit]

Hey there, we are part of an university translation group under User:OberMegaTrans and translated the German article for Tennenbronn into English. Feel free to proofread and add to our contribution or help us out in understanding wikipedian etiquette. Thank you in advance!

We also created an infobox on our draft subpage with some additional information, but saw that @Turtlecrown had already added one beforehand. Is there any way to incorporate our information? I Møth I (talk) 16:21, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the translation!
I had a quick look over the text and I see a few general topics that you might want to check up on
  • Unchecked machine translation/literal translation: most obvious example is "citizen voting" which has been literally translated from the German "Bürgerentscheid" but yet still links to the page of the correct word, referendum.
    • Relatedly, context: The original text for "the administration reform in 1970" only made sense because it was linked to "Gebietsreform in Baden-Württemberg" - this is a case where non-Germans would need more context but got less. Similary, check what's going on in the Religion section.
  • Style and formatting (see WP:Manual of Style):
    • References: position (directly after the punctuation) and format ("Last visited" is not what's normally used on English Wikipedia)
    • Dates: format (see MOS:DATEFORMAT) and consistency
    • Headings: should not have extra capitalisation
With regards to the infobox, I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Can you clarify what problems you're having with adding the new information? Keep up the good work! Turtlecrown (talk) 16:58, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
