tenten[edit]

They say that Tenten's fight with Temari is seen starting, then ended quickly. Well, isn't that from the manga? In the anime, they show it!

Content[edit]

Tenten's page is...really lacking. I know she's minor compared to the other characters, but it's really sketchy. Can we get someone to fill this in a little more? I would, but I haven't watched the filler arcs and there's not much on her in the original manga. Veil of Shadows 05:25, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Try watching the Curry of Life story arc in the fillers. --Francis820 16:15, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I edited the Naruto 2 part. I changed her skill in weapons to veriety (sp?) because she does not realy show her skills, just a new...toy. --NejiHyuga360 16:15. 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I edited the part on her personality a bit, showcasing what little signs and instances we've had (her worrying about Lee in the forest of death, emphasizing a bit more on her admiration of Neji's skills). I've also edited her Part II profile, adding on the notes of exasperation she'd had, and interaction she's had with her team. I think it's a general information article, and information is lacking on her. Therefore, it would be fanon to throw in lame things like how she's in love with Lee or Neji. Of course the page will be a bit lacking on content, but I think I added a bit more on to it concerning what little we've seen of her personality and interaction. :)

It is good that people have added more charateristics on Tenten's personality and the trvia of her chinese hertitage (or whatever) but face it, she's the most minor (with the exception of Shino) character. i =don't think that we should add much more until another arc with her comes out.Blackcat1313 03:14, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I think she's the most minor character of the 12, even taking Shino into account. For starters, they didn't even bother to give her a surname. Er... That didn't really add much to the discussion, really, but I just had to get that in there someplace. You Can't See Me! 06:45, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well we should umm disregaurd the filler archs when choosing minor characters. But that was yes my mistake about shino. Blackcat1313 21:00, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't even think Tenten should have an article at all. The only reason she's even given an article at all is because she's the teammate of Lee and Neji. She's done nothing at all for the series besides be the Sakura of Team Guy (meaning all she does is go "Neji!""Lee!""Guy!" all series while her teamates do everything) and get her but kicked by Temari. (which is so minor the manga didn't even show it) She's the most minor of all of the 15 (including the Sand Siblings) and has no backstory at all. (Shino is given one, he was planted with bugs inside of him) Even characters like Anko and Dosu have done more than her. If an important character like Chiyo can't have an article, I see no reason why a nothing character like Tenten can. Face it, even Kin does more than her. Artist Formerly Known As Whocares

Trivia Speculation[edit]

I believe the trivia bullet "Tenten" could refer to her ability to hit "Ten targets out of ten," as Might Guy said that she never misses with her weapons. is nothing but speculation and should be deleted. I will do so now. Blademaster313 02:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese version says "ten out of ten", so it's not speculation. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 03:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, technically there is more data on her than Shino, yet for some reason the appearances of Tenten is not on the Tenten page like on the other Rookie 9. User talk:Kitsunewarlock 06;52, 02 August 2006 (UTC)

I have something for everyone to speculate on. I believe that in the manga Naruto will end up going out with Tenten. I have two facts supporting me, A) the writer has stated that Tenten is his type of woman, and B) Naruto was born on October 10th aka 10/10 aka tenten. nice huh Punker9000 20:06, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That idea for lack of a better work is Lame Rocks Lotus 01:36, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tenten's Marking/Symbol[edit]

If you don't believe me then check the first few pages on chapter 36.. when Neji says "That sounds interesting" or whatever. Cobalt 20:29, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have that particular chapter on-hand. What does it look like? A line, an x, a circle? You need to be specific when including it. I'm not against the trivia itself, but people need to be able to visualize it. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 20:37, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can post a link right now to the image, its hard to tell really.. remove it if needed. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/Invincibility/Tentensmark.png Cobalt 20:55, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be a martial arts symbol, much like how Goku of DBZ fame wears the symbol of his master on the back of his outfit. Because Tenten makes so few appearances in the manga, and because even fewer would show her backside, I'm not going to bother to see if this appears elsewhere. I would imagine that it would appear at some point in the anime though, assuming it's a recurring part of her wardrobe. Maybe someone could watch her battle with Temari to confirm? Snapper2 21:02, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I checked :), not there. Cobalt 21:07, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And did you find her back to have a martial arts symbol on it? Snapper2 21:09, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed you added "not there" to your previous comment. Well then I suppose it's a valid piece of triva. Just be more specific than "a mark on Tenten's top". Snapper2 21:19, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'kay. Cobalt 21:20, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the mark on Tentens top does appear in the begining of chapter 36 like Cobalt says (its really small and on the bootom of the first page). I have never seen it in the anime only manga. However the odd thing is that in other volumes of the manga if get a good look at Tentens backside the marital arts mark isn't there! This is still good trivia. Blackcat1313 03:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is that possibly the same symbol that appears on the ground in one of her moves in the Ninja Taisen games?

Interesting info[edit]

This edit was reverted, but you can replace it for the second paragraph if you want:

Her hairstyle is called "ox horns", similar to the hair-style of Street Fighter Chun-Li (minus the covering). Repeated names are used affectionately in China, but "Tenten" can also mean "sporadically" or "here or there" in Japanese, which fits with her infrequent and insubstantial appearances in both the manga and anime. Her personality can also be described as such, as she tends to drift from serious to goofy between appearances. "Tenten" (テンテン) also refers to the small double marks that appear on Japanese hiragana and katakana to change the pronunciation of certain characters (for example, "ta" [た] becomes "da" [だ] with the addition of "tenten"). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 141.213.198.142 (talk)

I reverted it because a) you decided to have it replace the weird panda trivia instead of just making a new sentence, and b) because it is mainly making a vague connection to a video game character. If you'd like to try again, you can make a new sentence, though I'll point out that hairstyles aren't very interesting. ~SnapperTo 06:52, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I replace the wierd panda trivia just because it was wierd (and rather stupid, but true). The game character serves as an example, not some vague connection. Telling the reader the truth about her hairstyle is better than relating it to panda ears.--141.213.198.142 07:02, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why is an example needed? The hairstyle is already linked to, so saying that some Street Fighter has the same hairdo is excessive. And if the panda line is true, why remove it? Is it impossible to mention pandas and link to odango? ~SnapperTo 07:11, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have to question everything? What's wrong with an example? It's harmless enough. The panda line is not true, because the author did not draw them just because they look like panda ears. They look more like Mickey Mouse ears, so why not give that example? Making the panda connection is utterly outrageous, so it's better to leave it out.--141.213.198.142 07:17, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I sounded so rashful, but I was annoyed at your bias.--141.213.198.142 07:21, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Says the "Jiraiya was teaching the first and second Hokages" guy. Are you the author? How would you know? – Someguy0830 (T | C) 07:22, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The biggest problem facing Wikipedia is censoring by biased editors without due attention of the content of the material. These brash editors protect their own opinions at the expense of the truth. If you guys want to gang up and protect what you wrote, fine. I will not waste my time arguing.--141.213.198.142 07:27, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The biggest problem with Wikipedia is editors would think that even the most minute detail shared by two characters is so utterly fascinating that everyone just has to know about it. Realize that such comparisons are worthless. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 07:29, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have no bias on the matter. Comparing Tenten's hairstyle to pandas is just as harmless as comparing it to Chun Li's, though I would think people would be more familiar with the former than the latter. This really shouldn't be something difficult to compromise on. ~SnapperTo 07:31, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Umm... does Tenten have her own theme?
MemoriesOfThePast2, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes! It played when she used "Twin Rising Dragons" during her fight with Temari during the Chunnin exam prelims. :::::Brian, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Well i got a Question. I guess this would be interesting info, but is this a popular myth or truth: tenten can preform summonings. I've read that she can on a couple of other websites but i dont trust them. im still just to curious, so does anyone know for sure?Blackcat1313 03:05, 13 February 2007 (UTC) Bold text[reply]

In the sense that she can summon weapons from scrolls. I don't know if this is kuchiyose no jutsu or not, but she hasn't been shown summoning animals or anything like that. Retlor 02:31, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Tenten has never been to perform kuchiyose no jutsu in the anime or the manga. the weapons she gets from scrolls are "unsealed" rather then "summoned". So Tenten can perform seals rather then summonings.Punker9000 20:22, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, i see. But almost every naruto character can also unseal wepons from scolls so it's not that special. I thought it was that she summoned an animal or something.Blackcat1313 21:00, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Its moret then just releasing seals.... she actually creates the seals for her weapons - shes the youngest character we know does this so far —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Punker9000 (talkcontribs) 02:18, 27 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Creates the seals? Where'd you get that information. As far as we know, the seals are most likely the same as regular weapon scroll seals, which are fairly commonplace. Make the smallest assumption, and it's less likely to bite you later. You Can't See Me! 01:21, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I recheaked naruto episode 43 im sure she does not create seals i just dont see how that is poossible Blackcat1313 18:31, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure creating seal scrolls are possible. Kankurou and Kotetsu can do it. -- Seraphchoir 19:09, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TenTen's Jutsu's[edit]

Erm, I went here wondering, "Does she know any other Jutsu's besides Rising Twin Dragons?" So I would like an answer!!!

Technically she doesn't even know that. It's non-canon, so I'd say she really knows only Projectile Weapons. If she does know other jutsu, neither the manga or the anime has made mention of it.
Shouldnt we add the souryuu tensakai that Tenten used in episdoe 28 of shippuuden at the end. Tintor2 16:07, 7 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tintor2 (talkcontribs)

Tenten's Measurements[edit]

Is the information listed for Tenten's height and weight accurate? If my conversions are correct, 155.6 cm is around 5'1", and 43.1 kg is under 95 lbs. Don't you think that's a bit unhealthy for a sixteen year old girl?

Those are her measurements as a 14-year-old girl. Her Part II measurements have yet to be given. ~SnapperTo 18:52, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article[edit]

Does Tenten really deserve an article? She's done nothing at all except fight Temari (which is so minor the manga didn't even show it) and be a member of Team Guy (and she rarely ever helps besides simply being there). She's done basically as much for the series as Izumo and Kotetsu have, and in reality only has an article because she's Lee and Neji's teammate. Her only shown ability is anime only, and her only one on one battle isn't shown at all. According to WIKI:FICT, she doesn't have enough for an article, and quite honestly her role in the series is just being there, very similar to Sakura in Part I.
