Invasion of the Neptune Men
[edit]I watched a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode with Invasion of the Neptune Men, and I noticed that there is a scene that looks like it could have been lifted for the opening of the music video. Can anyone confirm this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.68.137.132 (talk) 04:44, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:RATM - Testify single alternate cover.jpg
[edit]Image:RATM - Testify single alternate cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Genre classification for testify by rage against the machine
[edit]I recently noticed that the genre listed for “Testify” was nu metal after i simply viewed this too see what the single art was, and the source cited was a BuzzFeed article, which isn’t typically considered reliable for genre classifications. After reviewing the band’s history and statements, including Tom Morello’s comment that they “never considered themselves to have anything to do with that genre,” in a loudwire interview, you can find on YouTube called “tom morello apologizes for “creating” nu metal. he literally apologized for planting the seeds, which clearly means they may have influenced people but their music style is SINGULAR from nu metal and predominantly predates it as well. I changed the genre to rap metal, which aligns more closely with the band’s style and how they are perceived by their fanbase and music critics. Also singles from this same album like “Guerrilla Radio” don’t say nu metal they say rap metal and funk metal, so i made the change.
However, the change was reverted. I believe the reversion compromises the accuracy of the article, as rap metal better reflects the band’s sound. I think that revision should’ve had reasoning. I won’t make further changes, but I encourage a discussion about ensuring the article reflects the most accurate genre classification, based on credible sources rather than less authoritative ones like buzzfeed. - What Tom Morello thinks or not doesn't matter here. In fact, the quality of Buzzfeed's content has been widely questioned by other editors, who find the quality of its articles highly inconsistent, as we can see here: WP:BUZZFEED
- Can we reach a consensus? I will remove the nu metal genre from the infobox since it has already been established that Buzzfeed's content is generally considered inconsistent, but to add any new genre to the infobox, such as rap or funk metal, you'll need to provide some minimally reliable material.
