POV tag
[edit]Tagged because the article has a slightly fawning tone, i.e. it blames weak lead-ins for every ratings drop the show has experienced, and cites this as fact rather than the speculation it is (however founded). 04:01, 21 January 2006 72.224.182.201
- I'm removing this POV tag since it was added by anon user two weeks ago. There has been no discussion on this talk page as to its validity. Please feel free to add it back if there is a legitimate reason or some kind of consensus is reached. Monkeyman 02:32, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
18 Oct 2005 Revision
[edit]I am a fan of the show but had no hand in this article prior to the major revision I just completed. I agree with the person who found a problem with the article's POV and reworded those sections accordingly. I created a separate section "characteristics of the show" by expanding upon a one-paragraph description already in the article (adding comments about Mac's acerbic style, guest appearances, etc.). I also added the section about awards. I hope fellow fans and Wikipedia style pundits alike will approve of my changes and additions. House of Scandal 09:56, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
To User 68.155.95.244 who just made a revision: You added the word "however" to a sentence. If you read that whole sentence aloud I am sure you'll find it shatters the grammar. If you aren't convinced, try reading it as if the parenthetical phrase wasn’t there. I changed it back. House of Scandal 02:20, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Added section
[edit]Whoever did a crappy thing and deleted my honest and good-natured attempt to help this LACKING article, you need to slow it, flip it, and roll it. This article NEEDS the new section. I put it pack as pest I can.
- Please identify your good natured contribution and which section you added as well as sign your post by inserting four tildes at the end of your message to avoid confusion. Furthermore before readding your section to the article make sure the contribution is thoroughly discussed between all active contributors and try to gain a consensus, remain civil as well. Mac's death
[edit]Is Mac's recent death relevant to the subject of this article, since production of the show ended prior to the great comedian's unfortunate death it should not be mentioned. Take for example the "Honeymooners" article, since the show had already been canceled before Gleason's death the consensus was reached his death should not be mentioned despite the fact he portrayed the lead character. Spelling of McCullough
[edit]On the Bernie Mac page his name is listed as Bernard Jeffrey McCullough. On this page his last name is spelled McCollough. I have yet to find a source by which to settle the dispute. Does anyone know the true spelling of his last name? ZouBEini (talk) 06:49, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Tense
[edit]To whomever keeps changing the tense from "is" to "was", please stop. Even though the series no longer airs, works of fiction are referred to in the present tense. The show does still exist even though it's off the air. For additional clarification, read WP:TENSE which I've put in every single edit summary every time I've changed it back. THE KIDS OF THE SHOW
[edit]Hi I just want to know what the kids are doing now that they are not filming for the show? I've seen the lady that played his wife, but nothing on the kids. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.38.136.119 (talk) 04:23, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
