Infobox etc.[edit]

Infobox is incomplete. Needs a front page, cost of copy of paper, etc. The article is missing any mention of its political and editorial policies/stance.

Untitled[edit]

The papaer has taken a total 180 and is now very biased and very self serving.

A PULITZER?!?!? BHAHAHAHAHA![edit]

I have never in my life seen a worse newspaper. There are continuous editing errors. I have been misquoted by both this and The Toledo Free Press (the brainchild of former Blade employees) more than once.

The Blade is severely slanted and biased at best, and critical of those who do not conform to the mainstream. Ask anyone who isn't a Republican, and they will confirm this opinion.

I will never pay a dime for a Toledo Blade, unless my picture is in it and I'm sending it off to "Ma & Pa" for memoirs' sake. Don't waste your money on this joke of a paper. Pulitzer? BHA! Ridiculous. Why else would the Toledo Blade break the Coingate Story? Tom Noe is HERE IN OHIO! Gee, that was tough...

Personally, I'm much more likely to pick up a Toledo City Paper - it is liberal and open to all opinions and non-conformists...and free to all.

This is not a forum, boys. Nobody cares about your opinion. Nobody cares that you're angry because the Blade doesn't reflect your bias. If you want to write an editorial, get a blog. Umlautbob 21:01, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- The blade may be biased in your view, but thats no reason to edit the wiki about it.

Fair use rationale for Image:The Blade front page.jpg[edit]

Image:The Blade front page.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

– I'm requesting this article be moved to The Blade (newspaper) because that is the actual name the newspaper goes by and it redirects right back to the article.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 00:02, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support move, since the actual name is indeed just "The Blade". 28bytes (talk) 15:16, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name change[edit]

I don't like the new wording "The paper dropped 'Toledo' from its masthead in 1960." That's not what the source says. The source says, "The newspaper's name changed to The Blade from The Toledo Blade in 1960." And that's what our text used to say. For one thing, there is no general agreement on what a newspaper masthead is. For another, it's possible for the name of a newspaper to not appear on the masthead, or to be different on the masthead from what's on the nameplate. The original wording said exactly what the source says, and is clear, concise, and unambiguous. Kendall-K1 (talk) 03:20, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
