Should there be a links for "Animals" to Rangers FC and "Red shite" to Liverpool FC? I say yes.

While it isn't very pleasant that Celtic fans call their rivals, Rangers, animals. It is however factual. Wikipedia should not deny what could be relevant (and/or useful) information to other users.

Please discuss before reverting, it is valid information. Which is the purpose of Wikipedia. 70.90.198.172 (talk) 01:58, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree with that - Wiki isn't censored. However, you could always put a wee * next to the likes of "animals" etcetera. You could provide the link like this animals*. Just a thought? 8"Jobby (talk) 22:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where does the tune come from?

[edit]

Whatever it is, it's not the tune of "With cat-like tread" ... have a listen to http://math.boisestate.edu/GaS/pirates/web_op/mid/pp25.mid There IS a song in this part of Pirates "Come friends who plough the sea" which is the tune of "Hail hail the boys are here", but I don't hear "It's a grand old team" anywhere in this section of the operetta. Original Glen Daly Lyrics

[edit]

These are the original lyrics as played over the Celtic Park loudspeaker:

For it's a grand old team to play for,
For it's a grand old team be dad,
When you know the history,
It's enough to make your heart go sad,
God bless them.

We don't care if we win lose or draw,
Darn the hair do we care,
For we only know that there's going to be a show,
And the Glasgow Celtic will be there.

Sure it's the best darn team in Scotland,
And its players all are grand,
We support the Celtic,
As they are the finest in the land we love them,
We'll be there to give the Bhoys a cheer
When the league flag flies,
And they cheers us up when we know the Scottish Cup,
Is coming home to rest at Paradise.

Sure it's a grand old team to play for,
Sure it's a grand old team be dad,
When you know the history,
It's enough to make your heart go sad,
God bless them.
We don't care if we win lose or draw,
Darn the hair do we care,
For we only know that there's going to be a show,
And the Glasgow Celtic will be there,
And the Glasgow Celtic will be there.

It's enough to make your heart go 9 in a row is NOT part of the original song!

Everton?

[edit]

What happened to the Everton version of the song? Why has it been removed? It is the song most commonly sang at Goodison Park and the most famous version of the song sung in England. Michael Dolan (talk) 16:00, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was probably the huns who removed it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.153.219.143 (talk) 01:44, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
