Fair use rationale for Image:Drivermovieposter.jpg

[edit]

Image:Drivermovieposter.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

RE: NPOV

[edit]

Reads a bit more like a positive review than an encyclopedia article--66.65.125.206 (talk) 01:01, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. The movie did wait out the test of time; but the article is not in the business of a belated blurb, apologetic, or defense. JohndanR (talk) 04:01, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The plot

The plot section sounds like a promotion, not like an encyclopedic article 93.138.33.214 (talk) 15:20, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Frank Bruno

[edit]

Clicking on the name Frank Bruno in the cast list takes you to the page about Frank Bruno the boxer!!! I think you'll find that Frank Bruno the actor is a different person! EricPolymath (talk) 15:54, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone else see similarities from the film's opening scene to the opening scenes of the Reflections video game "Driver"? Tzittnan (talk) 22:12, 9 December 2012 (UTC)tzittnan[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on The Driver. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Orphaned references in The Driver

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Driver's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "hill":

  • From Red Heat: Thompsonfirst=Anne (17 June 1988). "Director Hill puts extra dimension in Hollywood themes". Chicago Tribune. p. GL.
  • From Johnny Handsome: "'Johnny' Was Not Attractive Walter Hill Agreed To Direct The Difficult Film Noir "Johnny Handsome" - But Only After Refusing The Job Four Times." By Desmond Ryan Philadelphia Inquirer 1 Oct 1989 accessed 6 Feb 2015
  • From Undisputed (film): AT THE MOVIES: Tunis by Night Is a Cabaret Kehr, Dave. New York Times (1923-Current file) [New York, N.Y] 23 Aug 2002: E8.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:07, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
