Censorship
[edit]I have repeatedly been censored for my insertion of the fact that Jay-Z laments the break up of the Fat Boys in his song "Heart of the City" however I am confused as to why my completely factual assertion is continuously removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.3.41.212 (talk) 21:31, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- Because that sort of "fat boys were mentioned in this song and that song" is not relevant in an encyclopedic context. Eli lilly 22:33, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- I believe you are incorrect as it emphasizes the fact that the Fat Boys are "regarded as a seminal part of early rap music recording history." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.3.41.212 (talk) 23:57, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- You don't think that the Jay Z track is the first one to reference the Fat Boys, do you? And they've been sampled all over the place, too. It's a slippery slope, starts with the Jay Z song and then soon it's a list of every song that references the Fat Boys, then next it's expanded to a list of songs that sample the Fat Boys... a big list of crap. And it's all against WP best practices. Eli lilly (talk) 01:32, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Why is it that we can have a discussion of the TV Show "Everybody Loves Chris" and not put in a reference to a Jay-Z song? This is just typical Wikipedia fascism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.182.39.118 (talk) 23:07, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
- Well is there no answer?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.182.39.118 (talk) 05:44, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Fatboyscover.jpg
[edit]Image:Fatboyscover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:47, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Louie Louie
[edit]Am I remembering correctly that the Fat Boys also covered "Louie Louie" on the Crushin' album? I see no track listing for it and the article mentions "Wipeout" and "The Twist." It might not be notable enough to make the article, but I was sure I'd find a reference to it. Medleystudios72 (talk) 18:41, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Years of birth?
[edit]I noticed that this article disagrees with the articles for the individual members regarding their years of birth. To make it more confusing, this article has different years of birth for them than Wikipedia. I am unable to track down a reliable source for their dates of birth. --JHP (talk) 02:09, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Makes it look like they recorded The Twist in 1984
[edit]The way it is written, it looks like they did "The Twist" for their 1984 album. But they actually did it on "Coming Back Hard Again" in 1989. https://www.google.com/search?safe=active&espv=2&biw=1440&bih=753&q=fat+boys+coming+back+hard+again&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAGOovnz8BQMDQxUHsxCXfq6-gWGOoXm6uRKcbZylJZ6dbKWfW1qcmayfWFSSWVxilZiTVJpb_IjRhVvg5Y97wlLWk9acvMZoyoVLpZAUF5trXklmSaWQABefFJJFGgw8e_t933nrTlPYcnP70thXVS85eyY_BwBMqJ-QlwAAAA&npsic=0&sa=X&ei=_9H8U_WTAouKyASV74CYBA&ved=0CDAQri4 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.97.218.10 (talk) 12:07, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
Damon Wembley death
[edit]It says on chat GPT that Damon Wembley died on January 24, 2022. I obviously can't use that as a source to update the main article. But if someone has a good source, please update this article to reflect that he is dead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.25.206.126 (talk) 02:03, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Better image available?
[edit]Does anybody have access to a better image that could be used for the infobox? The current image is a combination of headshots of only two of the three members. There has to be something better out there that we can use. Preferably a picture of all three members at their peak. NJZombie (talk) 02:50, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
