Possible template for a Star Trek:TNG episode?

[edit]

"The "governor" refutes him, saying that his only role is as that of an Invisible. Their purpose is to infect key government and business figures with crab-like creatures who attach themselves to people's backs and take over their minds. In so doing, the Invisibles plan to conquer the world. Each of the new recruits will be given a target to infect following their innoculation."

This sounds very much like the basic plot of the first season TNG episode Conspiracy.--FeanorStar7 (talk) 07:17, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also sounds like The Puppet Masters --John richard leonard (talk) 05:45, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure Heinlein mentioned in his biography that complained to the producers of the Outer Limits and reached a settlement of something like an apology and ten dollars. 80.195.187.235 (talk) 13:38, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Plot correction? Whose kid brother or who is the kid brother?

[edit]

The Plot section currently says: "It turns out that Spain is actually an agent for the GIA, sent to infiltrate the Invisibles. He sneaks out to meet his contact in the woods and states his plan to try to establish a friendship with the desperately lonely Plannetta so he can get Plannetta to call his "kid brother" so that they can meet up later. In reality, the number is that of GIA headquarters."

First of all, it's ambiguous: Planetta is supposed to make a phone call to his own kid brother or Spain's kid brother? Who are "they" to meet up later? Spain and Planetta? Planetta and his kid brother? Etc.?

I saw this episode recently and I thought that Spain gives Planetta the phone number and tells Planetta to call GIA and identify himself as Spain's kid brother. As written (above), Planetta is calling to ask FOR Spain's kid brother; as I remember it, Planetta is calling and IDing himself as Spain's kid brother.

I hope someone can watch it again and take some notes! AdderUser (talk) 06:23, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
