Barons

[edit]

Someone keeps on claiming that Pereira is a "baron". That title isn't used in Scotland, it's baronet. Editors take note.--MacRusgail (talk) 15:56, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, baronets and barons are different (see Feudal baron). People buy and sell the title 'baron' all the time. A vanity thing, tied in with heraldry because Scottish barons get spiffy coats of arms compared to the average armiger. Agasim-Pereira seems to have bought the barony, and acquired the title along with it, in 2000.[1][2] I'm not sure if he sold the title to Gellar though. 'baronyoffulwood.com' is still alive on the web, showing his coat of arms, etc. [3].--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 10:49, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Lamb (island)Lamb (island) – Per WP:WIAN and WP:THE/WP:CONCISE "Lamb" is the name of the island per the Ordnance Survey, A-Z, Collins Britain. Google Maps, Gazetteer for Scotland and the Scottish islands book. Thus being consistent with the OS in other cases. Note that I suggest keeping the "island" qualifier as opposed to moving it to Lamb, Scotland since it better distinguishes from the animal, that is to say people won't think that this is about lambs in Scotland in general, see Talk:Metro (city)#Requested move 17 November 2018 for a similar example.
