keyboard credit for Long Gone

[edit]

There is prominent organ on the track Long Gone, which is not accounted for in the musician credits in the article. Clearly it isn't Mike Ratledge - Soft Machine weren't involved in the session in which it was recorded on 26 July 1969 and in any case it doesn't sound like him. The only thing I could find in a brief online search was a reference in a blog to Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright being "rumoured" to appear on the album, though it didn't mention on which track(s). But given that Long Gone is the only track with obvious keyboards other than the two featuring Soft Machine, it's presumably what the "rumour" refers to. But it's not clear if this is anything more than guesswork based on the involvement of Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters, albeit it sounds quite plausible. Alternatively, given the organ part is quite simple, maybe Gilmour played it himself - he apparently played organ and piano on The Narrow Way from the Pink Floyd album Ummagumma, recorded a few months earlier. Anyone have any idea? Freewheeling frankie (talk) 12:08, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
