Relation to Ayn Rand's Philosophy of Objectivism?

[edit]

This book sounds as if it's theme is similar to Ayn Rand's philosophy "Objectivism." Is there a connection? I understand the author had many philosophical themes in his work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Justinjuicebox (talkcontribs) 20:11, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think not. I believe its intent is to encourage us to get far enough Outside of most current thinking that we can get a clearer grasp on what keeps history repeating itself. Wilson's philosophy has very little in common with Rand. Twang (talk) 06:46, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary

[edit]

Unfortunately the material recently added (and excised 12-16) did not describe the plot but rhapsodized about the book and its impact on one reader. WP is not a blog! I greatly admired this book when I read it long ago (as I did The Outsider and The Occult). It really deserves a well-written plot summary, one that will encourage more people to read and appreciate it. Too bad that admirers haven't managed that yet.
