We have the same information twice. The Trivia and the Continuity sections both mention the lettuce with the face. One of those entries should be deleted. 78.51.97.50 21:35, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

in the continuity section they said that they might not know an advance form of airbending. it's just a theory but i think oxygen bending might be. basically aang might be able to bending oxygen to remove it from people or just against fire benders to remove the oxygen in the area to burn. nothing can burn without oxygen so maybe airbending can create instant vacuums. just a thought what do you guys think? I think someone should remove the bit at the end about pure bending. Its rubbish, "bloodbendings" just a subcatagory of water bending. Like metal bending, sandbending, etc. User —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.155.194.45 (talk) 03:12, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, someone made up a category called 'Advanced' for these techniques that doesn't tell us anything. Techniques of note, in my opinion, are the rare ones. They might be rare because of 'difficulty' or 'style' or that they were not shared by the person that invented it. (rambling follows) I mean even the Airbenders' gliding or Aang's air scooter should count as 'advanced' forms of airbending because they do more than just blasts of air in a straight line. I'd say a better title for the discussion would be along the lines of 'New technique appearing in this episode' or whatnot. 202.89.188.28 08:01, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Taken from Notes

[edit]
  • As an advanced form of Firebending, both Azula and Uncle Iroh can both create lightning, with Iroh also capable of breathing fire like a dragon (a rare skill), and Azula capable of generating blue fire which is more intense than regular red fire. Also the Combustion man is able to use a more explosive version of fire bending.
  • As the advanced form of Earthbending, Toph can 'metalbend', being the only Earthbender ever known capable of such a skill, most likely due to her mastery of neutral jing. Sandbending is a variant of Earthbending seen in 'The Desert'.
  • As the advanced, albeit morally questionable, form of Waterbending, Hamma and Katara can both 'bloodbend' as well as "pull" the water out of plants and moisture in the air. Another advanced form of waterbending is healing, an ability that only some waterbenders have. It should also be pointed out that the theory of bloodbending is similar to the 'plantbending' demonstrated in The Swamp, both bending the water present in a organism. However, plantbending does not appear to require the influence of the full moon; this may be because of the pockets of water present in some species of plants, however the world of Avatar is still not yet known.
  • It is not yet known if there is a more advanced form of Airbending. Although it is known that Airbenders could create tornados, that seems like relatively common knowledge for any Airbending master, and not an advanced form of Airbending as portrayed by the other elements so far. Yet rumors persist that airbenders can suffocate their opponents by sucking the air out of their lungs as their one lethal techinque. Also, in the Avatar TCG, Monk Gyatso is shown to be capable of making air imitate gravity during battle with the Fire Nation soldiers who attacked the Air Temple, and it is mentioned that only a "skilled Airbender" would be capable of doing so.

Cut from notes...

[edit]

This has no bearing on the episode, it is essentially off-topic. If people read the note that is left, and wish to explore what the advanced forms of bending are in the other elements, they may view the articles for those types of bending. We already have a bloated article here. - BalthCat 06:26, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The name is spelt "Hama"

[edit]

According to [site] and the closed captions it is spelt "Hama" and not "Hamma".
