Discussion
[edit]Hi, this article I believe would really be worth adding to Wiki as it's one of the few surviving Anglo-Saxon codex's from the 8th century. I'll do some research and expand the article if nobody minds ? Witanofnorfolk 13:49, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- It would help if you could add details about the early manuscripts of DTR; I'm not familiar with them.--SteveMcCluskey 22:20, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- A copy of the work is at my school library. I'll check it out and add some information to the site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SamuelBecket (talk • contribs) 03:21, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Title of page
[edit]Could the title of page be changed from De Ratione Temporum to De Temporum Ratione? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.131.69.121 (talk) 21:44, 19 March 2007 (UTC).
- Done, but lower cased De temporum ratione per Wiki and standard latin title form.--SteveMcCluskey 21:59, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- No problem I'll get the details together and add them Witanofnorfolk 12:50, 6 June 2007 (UTC) 13:49, 06 June 2007 (UTC)
Suggestions
[edit]I think the added information is good, but it could benefit from adding a description of each of the different sections of the book. I would be interested in knowing what is discussed in better detail for each section. I also think adding a discussion of any analyses or commentaries on the text. Discussing these might give a sense of the importance of this book as well as its reception over the years. Good Luck! Osbo6401 (talk) 03:22, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- As it stands, this article doesn't tell the reader why Bede wrote his book. It would be useful to put his concerns with computing the date of Easter and what Wallis calls doctrina Christiana in the lead and organize the article around those concepts. Some good insights are found in Faith Wallis's introduction to her translation where she discusses Computus as a "problem based science" (pp. xvii-xxxiv) and the book's structure and content (pp. lxiii -lxxi).--SteveMcCluskey (talk) 17:07, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- I think the article you have looks really good. I like how you added a description of each of the sections of the book. I think that if you could find a picture of the book or maybe even images from the book, if there are any, would add even more to the article. Ashblackburn (talk) 19:16, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
