July 20 Plot

[edit]

I removed the following line: "(The previous claim is incorrect. Rommel was never implicated in the assassination attempt, but rather was discovered attempting to make separate peace treaties with the Western Allies. He felt that it was best for Germany to not have the Russians complete their movement into Germany and thought that the Western Allies would be a benefit to help with this goal. Rommel thought the attempt was a foolish idea in that the German Military would fall apart with no central command and thus allow for a quicker Russian advance. (The Rommel Papers))"

Regardless of accuracy it's not cited properly and the seeming self-contradiction gives a very unprofessional feel to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.72.83.20 (talk) 19:42, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
