Fair use rationale for Image:X Factor Logo.png

Image:X Factor Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

File:X Factor Australia Judges Photo.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

An image used in this article, File:X Factor Australia Judges Photo.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 30 August 2011

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Guy Sebastian's & Ronan Keating's name linked

On the X Factor UK page all the judges names are linked on the contestants box even if they are down twice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.78.205.197 (talk) 20:56, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

You link only once. Wikipedia rules. Oz talk 23:00, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Where is season4 page?

It has begun filming, all 4 judges have committed to it, why has it not got its own page when the uk and usa ones have and they havent begun filming theres? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.19.85 (talk) 21:39, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Its still early days and I doubt the season 4 page will pass notability. The pages for the new seasons of X Factor UK and US have enough information for their own pages, whereas the Australian page will just have information on auditions which isn't much. Oz talk 22:05, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Season or series?

What's the proper term? Season or series? Cause there are Australian articles that say series (e.g. Top Gear Australia (series 1) and Gladiators Australian Series 2) and articles that say season (e.g. Australian Idol (season 1) and The Biggest Loser Australia (season 1)). Unreal7 (talk) 17:54, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

In most sources The X Factor (Australia) is referred to as "season". Oz talk 22:45, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Overlinking in tables

I'm going to try and reach a consensus about the excessive number of links in the Series summary and Judges categories and their finalists tables because it's getting annoying that IP users are repeatedly linking the same names in both tables more than once. For example, does Ronan Keating need to be linked 3 times in the Series summary table? (see here) WP:OVERLINK says links can be repeated in tables, so the linking currently shown in both tables is fine and I think it should stay this way. WP:OVERLINK also says that overlinking "makes it difficult for the reader to identify and follow links that are likely to be of value." Linking the judges/hosts/mentors names more than once in the same table might make it difficult for some readers, especially to those who are not familiar with this show. To the users who think all names in both tables should be linked more than once because The X Factor (UK) article does it, that's not a good enough reason. Not everything in this article has to look exactly like The X Factor (UK) article. Oz talk 21:09, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
