I have removed the comment "Asian" and "Note: Not a reliable source, but putting it temporarily for supporting future references" from the source notes, since they reflect a blocked individual users opinion, after I explained this on [User_talk:Wifione#Elephant.se_not_reliable.3F.3F his talk page]. [http://www.elephant.se/database2.php?elephant_id=3629] Asian Elephant database. Note: Not a reliable source, but putting it temporarily for supporting future references

'it' vs 'he'

[edit]

this article switches back and forth between "he, his" and "it, its" when referring to the elephant. was about to go in and standardize but wanted to check first if there is a wiki standard on how to refer to individual animals like this. 47.205.141.93 (talk) 23:28, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is a good question; I've not seen any mention of this in policy. If there isn't an explicit policy, per other policies I imagine we should just attempt to be relatively consistent, and to avoid the appearance of excess humanization/dehumanization in order to push a POV. 104.232.119.107 (talk) 23:26, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
