Notability

[edit]

'Professor' at UK universities is not the same as in in the US where it used for any teacher. It indicates head of a department. Beyond that, an emeritus professor has been awarded the title by his peers and institution as a mark of great respect and is therefore, by definition, regarded as notable. (Emeritus is, in other words, almost a synonym for notable.) Publications are listed, more should be found, but on the evidence so far, I have removed the non-notability tag.
