Headerless[edit]

I'll sort this all out (today if I get a chance, if not, hopefully in the next day or two). I realized this last night as I was editing the Austronesian and Oceanic languages pages. But I wasn't sure how those internal links with the horizontal bar worked, and I was too tired to sort it out at the time (and didn't want to mess anything up while I was so tired!) --Sheena V 21:58, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Loss of S[edit]

I don't know what context was meant in saying the loss of s is "unique", but I know of at least one not-too-distantly-related language that has also lost the phoneme: Hawaiian is notorious for its tiny phoneme inventory, including the lack of s (Proto-Polynesian *s and *f have both become Hawaiian h). As in Tolai, the only words with s are from other languages. I'm sure there are other examples elsewhere in the world. Chuck Entz (talk) 05:20, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
