I have reqested that sources be cited for the simple fact that there were no tornados that hit Detroit. They were microbursts, not tornados. I was there. Me, nor anyone else ever saw tornados, only heavy winds and wind damage. Weather reports could not confirm tornadic activity either. The claim that this was a tornado should be changed or deleted unless sources are cited. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.164.212.250 (talk)

Here is a source for most of this article. According to the NWS, what is in the article is accurate http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dtx/climate/1997.php. However, I looked in the NCDC database and it does not list any tornadoes for Wayne County at all, so I'm not sure what to say.
16 TORNADO(s) were reported in Michigan between 07/02/1997 and 07/02/1997.

Naming convention

[edit]

I believe that according to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (events), the last two words in this article's title should not be capitalized. However, Southeast Michigan tornado outbreak is a double-redirect. Any comments? --Rosiestep (talk) 01:23, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
