spelling errors

[edit]

The title of Huet's work in the article is spelled variously 'traitte/' or 'traite/'. I believe modern French has only one 't', but every edition of Huet's work that I've seen has 'tt'.

Ah, I see. (My French is rather the autodidact's language skill with no knowledge about how things are regularly done, so I did not notice...). I generally prefere original spellings and changed the first explanatory sentence to trai[t]té, to make both options visible. I do not know whether that is a good solution. Stephen Lewis' translation - I have a pdf-file of that (photographic images of the pages), if only I had an ocr able to read the long s to produce an html-text of that. If there is anyone around who would be able to process copies of the 1715 edition I'd work with him or her on a commented web-edition at Wikisource and Marteau Editions. --Olaf Simons 09:35, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
