Bridges

[edit]

Quote: During their occupation of the country, the Soviets completed a bridge across the Amu Darya and built a motor vehicle and railroad bridge between Termez and Jeyretan.

Can someone clarify the number of bridges? According to the articles Termez and Afghanistan–Uzbekistan Friendship Bridge there is only a road bridge. Biscuittin 16:59, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One bridge, carries both road and rail. Wheeltapper 21:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rail transport

[edit]

I am thinking of moving the Rail transport section to a new article: Rail transport in Afghanistan and merging it with Afghan railway history. Although there are few railways in Afghanistan at present, the extension of the railway from Iran is likely to change this. Please give your comments. Difficult to find such record as we are talking on uncontrolled exports from all over the world through several ways.
