VK - Nice of you to completely ignore the polite question on the premise that your didn't want your talk page polluted by the likes of me. Copy and pasted from your talk page. Maybe you will be kind enough to respond this time without the sharp and what appeared to me rude reponse? If this was not your intention sorry but you made wholesale changes to titles of articles that were flimsily argued. In particular the majority of sports trophy articles on here do not include their sport or region in their title and there are numerous shared titles. I will be here for about twelve hours before moving on. Thank you for your response this time - perhaps?

Whilst I appreciate your motives, the naming convention you have used on Ulster Schools Cup et alia smacks of WP:OR. The usual form of disambiguation around here that I have seen is to go for the likes of Ulster Schools Cup (Rugby Union). I personally feel this is a lot more elegant and works better if a disambiguation page is required.

There are plenty of cups/competitions on here as well that do not include their sport in their name. These cup names are used by various sports in different countries e.g. Anderson Cup, MacCrory Cup, off the top of my head. Very few of these competitions name the sport in their title, but the sentiments you express in your comments apply equally. These cups name neither region or sport in their title, it is however clarified in the lead.

The other thing to consider is that sometimes the most common usage of the name is often left 'unclarified' with a link to a disambiguation page if somebody is looking for a different version of the competition title.

Don't take this a challenge, but I dare you to go in and change the Ulster Senior Football Championship page title to the Ulster Senior Gaelic Football Championship. I know what it refers to, but not everyone out there will, particularly those with no Irish roots. You would probably quite rightly hear howls of derision. But the title , as you say, does not tell me what sort of football is being played.

Finally, if you are going to move a page title, please at least try to change some of the wikilinks, or failing that in particular the Template(s). Having multiple articles go through re-direct pages is messy and inefficient.
