Alumni
[edit]It is generally understood that Alumni should have studied at a place of education, they do not have to have finished or graduated from that place indeed that is close to the literal meaning of the latin and the modern understanding of the word. That being the case those who have honorary degrees from a university do not suddenly become the alumni of that institution. Therefore I going to move those with honorary degrees from alumni to holders of honorary degrees.
- This section should be standardized, placed in a list that has been constructed from the current paragraph. Josh a brewer (talk) 01:27, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Notable Alumni
[edit]In a previous edit, this section was put into paragraph form, but was changed back to a bulleted list last week. I have reinstated the paragraph format as this is in line with Wikipedia's advice on University articles.
Wikipedia's guidelines for University articles explicitly state: "Noted people — This section is not for a list of famous alumni, but rather a description of notable academic staff and alumni presented in paragraph form."
