The genealogy provided in this article is incorrect. It states that the father of Valentine Seaman, born in 1770, was Captain John Seaman, who was born around 1610...one hundred and sixty years ealier. The generational path should be corrected to show that Valentine Seaman, born 1770, was actually the great-great-grandson of Captain John Seaman. The generations go as follows: John Seaman b. 1611--> Nathaniel Seaman b. 1672 --> Samuel Seaman b. 1715 --> Willet Seaman b. 1737 --> Valentine Seaman b. 1770.
