What is the significance of the image at the bottom of the page?

I'm unable to understand the relevance of this image (File:Vazhappally_Plates_-_Description.JPG) to the main text.

Apart from a caption below it there is no explanatory text. It's a two-dimensional table of characters and as such I'm pretty sure it's not the text of the copper plate, plus it's too short.
