John Lilly[edit]

Coren Search Bot is in error, as the equivalent text from the noted site http://www.vitarka.org/ is lifted whole from Center of the Cyclone, a book by John Lilly. I'm using the same text, but mine is in quotes, cited and referenced. Theirs is not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Playanaut (talk • contribs) 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Clean-up[edit]

I've cleaned-up this article (Vitarka) from the scrapbook-collection of quotes, sloppy references, and sloppy Wiki-tags, which concealed the quite straight-forward meaning of this term: 'theinitial application of attention to an object in the practice of meditation'. It contained usefull information, but altogether was another string of quotes, 'original exergesis', and missed opportunities to access the relevant scholarly literature (Fox, Bucknell). Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 05:53, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Move and merge[edit]

I'v moved this page from Vitarka to Vitarka-vicara, since they appear as a couple in the description of the first dhyana; I've moved the Buddhism-related info from Vicara into this article. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 05:52, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
