Why Doesent Johnny Stone or any of the personaities of 99.1 talk about christ??? isnt this supposed to be a Christian station because i would like to hear at least more than one sentence of them talking about god. At least say some bible verses or say a little passage about the bible. Not about today is Pie esating day This is Ridiclious. I understand the late night talk shows about focus on the family but they just have to at least say something like a little passage about christ. And some songs they play arent even CHRISTIAN!! I belive i could FLY isnt a christian song. The guy who wrote it is a sexual offender. Someone explain this to me

Reply: First Of All, They Have Short Segments On The Word Of God Weekdays, And Plus, "I Bealeve I Can Fly" (The Gosphel Version) Is The Only Version They Play On The Station, They Don't Play R. Kelly, Do You Think He's A Gosphel Artist, No. That Version Was Played By Another Artist. Do A Comparison Check Meatlover21. Oh, And THEY DO ALSO PLAY CHRISTIAN ROCK AND GOSPHEL!!!!!!

How can Christian Black and Latino Artists Get Equal Air Play on any "Family Safe" radio station?[edit]

1. Be a member of a band whose members are mostly of European descent.

2. Do a collaboration with a Christian artist of European descent.

3. Downplay your African or Latino descent and make lots of mention of your European descent.

4. Do not perform or compose in a style considered to be "Black" or "Latino".

5. Do go out of your way to sound like all the other acts in vocal dynamics, musical style and musical content.

I have written to WAWZ several times by both snail-mail and email regarding their nearly 10-year-old "Family Safe" format. This format has served to exclude all but a small handful of Christian artists of African descent.

The only answer I ever received were a letter and an email saying I would hear from them. That promise has since been filed in the same drawer with my promised reparations of "40 acres and a mule".

I have heard nothing but more of the same - music, that is.

I have been tracking their playlist. A recent review of 12 hours of music played revealed a grand total of less than 20 minutes, four songs, performed by groups that did not consist of all European-descended artists. Of these four, one was a collaboration with a European descended artists, one was by a truly multi-ethnic group that included one African-descended member, and one by an artist who spends a lot of time downplaying any predominance of their African ascendancy and promoting their European ascendancy.

What I once hoped was a coincidence or oversight appears more to be deliberate exclusion of anything "non-White" in this most diverse of U.S. radio markets.

Does anyone else see a problem with this?

This gives the impression that there is something wrong with our voice, culture and style - no matter how much we have brought them under the submission to the word of God. Or maybe there is something wrong with us. Or maybe we should stick to "our own kind" which does not include Christian Whites.

I am not trying to bring division, but unity. However, it seems like everyone is happy with the division. LDeVose2 (talk) 07:39, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
