Re: Is Station Dead?[edit]

Yes, this station is off the air. They have closed down and ceased operations.

Is Station Dead?[edit]

Has this station ceased to be?

They seem to have ceased operating. They seem to no longer be broadcasting, their website requires a password, and their youtube page has no content. 24.26.128.185 (talk) 01:59, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Transmitter is back up broadcasting station ID, infomercials and advertising. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.28.111.57 (talk) 01:53, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Is this station dead?[edit]

No, it is not. It now has six subchannels, in fact. You didn't see the channel because its owners filed for bankruptcy. --Wellington10232 (talk) 21:11, 29 May 2012 (UTC)Wellington10232[reply]

New subchannels[edit]

The station seems to have different digital subchannels now: 32.1 MundoFox, 32.2 LATV, 32.3 Dalmar TV, 32.4 Ebru TV, 32.5 Unknown, 32.6 Spanish-language Religion.TomStike (talk) 01:37, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WCSN History[edit]

I was a part of this station from the initial purchase by United Media Acquisitions in 2004 and have knowledge of the history, but am not comfortable with making this major of an edit to the page without some discussion first.

WCSN-LP was originally W54AF Bucyrus, a low power independent station operating on channel 54. It was licensed prior to 1996 and was sold by Allonis Communications to Crawford Broadcasting in December 1996. (Based on the call-letter style, this was one of the early LPTV stations, probably built prior to 1991)

Due to the impending DTV transition which displaced all stations above channel 51, W54AF was eligible for a displacement move. Steve Marriott, the leader of United Media Acquisitions, saw the opportunity to move the station to Columbus on channel 32. This move also allowed the station to increase in power from 7kW to 150kW ERP. The purchase was completed in February 2004.

The call letters were changed to WCSN-LP (initially with a Bucyrus city of license) in February 2004 and the station was moved to the new Columbus tower later that year.

The "Columbus Sports Network" product did, indeed, launch in March 2007. But this station *did* have a history prior to that launch. Unfortunately most of the old analog records are no longer easily available from the FCC's website to determine the original construction date in Bucyrus. For the record, I have been responsible for transmitter operations for WCSN since the move in 2004.
