Batista Didn't Last
[edit]There is an interview with Chuck Palumbo on YouTube in which he said Batista didn't last an hour in the Power Plant. So there therefore he never graduated from the Power Plant. Mr. C.C. (talk) 08:56, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Hamilton's camp and the power plant were two different things
[edit]Please do not confuse the power plant with the camp Hamilton ran. The former was a private course wcw sent new hires too. The later was a school run by wcw that any one could enter and had a notoriously bad way of training. Really the only thing the two had in common was Hamilton.
Also the list needs to be trimmed. It includes people that were trained well before the power plant started like diamond Dallas page, and people that were trained by others, like (Triple H who was trained by killer Walter kilwalsky
- Can you provide any sources that support your claims? No sources I read ever differentiated the two schools. In fact every source has said the opposite, even referring to Hamilton's school "the power plant" before it was officially named that.
Kevin Nash, who was an early student of Hamilton's, has called it the "Power Plant".WCW claimed Nash was an alumni of the Power Plant in promotional materials. Hamilton himself never differentiated the two schools. Certainly wrestling sources have to be taken with a grain of salt, but it would be very odd if every single source was conflating two separate schools. Just because the business or training was organized in different ways over the years doesn't mean it becomes a separate thing. When it comes to the list of trainees, every single one has a source. If you want to challenge the source you need a reason. The article explains that the Power Plant was not just a training school, it was open to WCW wrestlers who needed to rehab or hone their skills. Triple H himself has said he trained with Terry Taylor at the Power Plant. His wrestling education, as is the case with a lot of wrestlers, doesn't just begin and end with their first trainer or the first school they attended. —Brian Halvorsen (talk) 04:32, 8 December 2021 (UTC) - Just also wanted to comment on your point that the Power Plant "had a notoriously bad way of training". I understand that this is the predominant opinion with the online wrestling community, but if you look at what trainees said it was a mixed bag. Many wrestlers (DDP, Elix Skipper, William Regal) cherished their time at the the Power Plant. Even wrestlers who had bad things to say about the school also had good experiences (Mark Jindrak, Shark Boy). The most vocal detractors of the school are newsletter writers (Dave Meltzer, Brian Alvarez, Bruce Mitchell) —Brian Halvorsen (talk) 05:08, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
