"We don't have an article called "Walpola Rahula"". Yes, you do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walpola_Rahula

And for some reason it is flagged as not having sufficient neutrality. Does that mean a short biography has to say something nasty about the subject? What is wrong with the article? The facts are correct.

The problem is that you can't use adjectives such as 'the standard' (which implies that others are deficient) or 'good' in describing the author or his works without injecting your own bias (even inadvertently). And no, a biography doesn't have to "say something nasty", indeed, then again you would be violating the neutrality of the article. I have edited this entry slightly to (hopefully) correct this but have simply left the factual information in place.

I noticed there are no birth and death dates given for Walpola Rahula. I know he has now passed away, is this information not available anywhere?-Anonymous, 8/1/06

Original source texts and interpretations

[edit]

It is important to state in articles that early sanghas were Vedic based schools and are considered to be "Hindu" and many interpretations of texts may be influenced by western education and the influences from outside India. Chinese and Ceylon monks may think that Buddhism is atheistic but clearly the Vedic religion is considered to be a religion. Many western sayings like Hinduism is a way of life, etc may have started by westerners and repeated by Hindus because of lack of knowledge, but does not make it to be true. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.97.221.147 (talk) 07:54, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
