Are these rugs generally Kilims or knotted?--A Y Arktos 11:06, 4 January 2006 (UTC) Answer: They're rarely kilims - but see under Graham Gower in the rugsofwar blog link[1][reply]

current war references

[edit]

I've replaced references to Sept. 11 attacks and "war on terror" with "invasion of Afghanistan" which ought to have a more direct impact on the making of war rugs (I'm not an expert here, so if the attacks or the global war on terror are subjects for war rugs, please correct me.)

I also changed the following statement attributing the level of violence to war lords. Although warlordism may be important, contributions of other groups makes me think that a more generic statement may be more appropriate. I did link to the page for "taliban insurgency" since that is a major catalyst for violence right now, but addition of a little summary of the players in current violence might be a good project. Violence in the country plus Taliban

[edit]

The words 'violence in the country' are a link to the page 'Taliban Insurgency'. Does anyone else object? The Americans are also to blame for the violence in today's Afghanistan.
