Name of article[edit]

This article is currently called Water Vole (North America). Why is it not called North American Water Vole? This would parallel the European Water Vole, North American Beaver, American Robin and countless other species. It is also the common name used by the standard WP ref, MSW3.

Most references to this species in Google Scholar seem to use "water vole" or the scientific name, as well as several other variants. However, that parallels the situation with the North American beaver, so I suppose it's reasonable enough to use this name instead of the current awkward title. HELP!! We are homeowners with what very much appears to be an infestation of Water Voles. We have a low water area beside our property with tunnels coming up from the water edge. The tunnels also appear on our lawn and mounds the size of a small cow patty are all along the side of the ditch in front of the house. These mounds are also appearing on top of the weeping bed. Last summer we were kept busy knocking these mounds down to mow the lawn. At one point the edging we had done along the patio stones was tunneled the entire length of the stones, about 30 feet.
