Wayne's World Returns[edit]

Movie awards last night brought Wayne's world skit back. Here is the clip. http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1588375&vid=237153 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.112.5.15 (talk) 15:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Hanks played Garth's cousin (Aerosmith's roadie) in the SNL sketch[edit]

Maybe Craig Taylor was the name of the character (I no longer remember), but Tom Hanks played the character. I didn't make the original change, but the change was correct. I'll leave it for now, because maybe there is a justification I'm unaware of (maybe there was another skit that featured an Aerosmith roadie?)-- but I used to love Wayne's World and I've seen this particular sketch many times. It was not vandalism, Tom Hanks was correct. Curtangel 23:33, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind... I corrected it, with attribution. Not the best attribution, but attribution non-the-less... I know I'm being fussy, but that's what Wikipedia is for. Curtangel 23:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bill and Ted[edit]

In the Saturday Night Live book "Live From New York" (By Tom Shales and James Andrew Miller) Dana Carvey points out similarities between the Bill and Ted films and Wayne's World.

Carvey: "I remember I always thought 'Aren't we just doing Bill and Ted?' I thought we'd be nailed as doing a Bill and Ted ripoff. But I think Mike's a clever writer, and he put his own stamp on 'excellent' and 'way, no way.' Bill and Ted did precede us, but I guess it didn't matter.

It is interesting to note that both 'Bill and Ted' and 'Wayne's World' feature a goofy heavy metal-obsessed duo who use quasi-surfer dude speak like 'excellent,' 'bodacious' and 'most heinous' etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.245.252.145 (talk) 17:06, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sketch vs Film[edit]

I surprised that Wayne's World didn't lead to the film. It is far more notable. Although based on the original was available to worldwide audience rather than just viewers of SNL. josh (talk) 02:52, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.

The result was merge into Wayne's World. MuZemike (talk) 23:28, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that Wayne's World (video game) be merged here. The video game article of the same name has little to no information. It also lacks the notability to warrant its own article; it could be better mentioned briefly here as a short section. Please discuss. MuZemike (talk) 19:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see why not as long as its not a huge section Speer320 (talk) 22:09, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see it being any longer than short-section length. MuZemike (talk) 00:44, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chyeah vs Sh'yeah[edit]

I have noticed that in the film "Sh'yeah is used" (in subtitles) rather than "Chyeah" as stated in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.234.152.56 (talk) 09:06, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Release?[edit]

HAve the sketches been released on DVD? I've seen a few snl 'best ofs' I would assume it is either on Mike or Dana's best of. But since there are two films plus the sketches I was wondering if anyone knew about some type of box set thing. Tydamann (talk) 12:06, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone Keeps Changing The Movie Titles![edit]

Someone keeps editing them back to their original names. STOP!! They're supposed to be inappropriate. You're not doing anyone a favor by changing them. You're just making more work for people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.247.244.120 (talk) 21:23, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Crucial Taunt[edit]

Crucial Taunt redirects here, but I can't find it mentioned in the text. --Tobias (talk) 09:47, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I corrected the redirection which now points to the movie. --Tobias (talk) 10:31, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Primary topic[edit]

Please see Talk:Wayne's World (film)#Primary topic for a rename discussion that would put the film in this article's location czar  01:54, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why does "schwing" redirect here?[edit]

I gather it's an interjection of sexual excitement (see Wiktionary); did Wayne's World invent it, or just popularise it? Equinox 04:12, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
