Variations

[edit]

It may be significant to note the regional differences in some of the major productions (notably, the Vegas production).

POV?

[edit]

This article contains pretty obvious POV language, describing the arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody as "marvellous" for example. Come on guys, it's an encyclopeadia, we can do without the adjectives. There's also no mention of the critical mauling the show received.

Second the motion. I can well imagine the "mauling" this gibberish got, but would enjoy reading it anyway. If Queen's great music can survive this, it can survive anything. Profhum (talk) 01:27, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rock Opera?

[edit]

should this be classified as a Rock Opera? It seemes to me like it should.

No, it's a Rock musical. Compare that article with the one about Rock opera. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

The blue links for the cast need checking and where appropriate changing (for example Adam Murray and Chris Holland are articles on footballers). WikiGull 21:35, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cast lists

[edit]

The cast list is getting rather long and is more than half the article. If no one objects, I'll move the list to another article, as has been done with the various Wicked (musical) cast lists. -- Annie D 04:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Amateur Productions

[edit]

The 'Schools Will Rock You' programme is interesting and worth keeping if it can be rewritten. However, information about the individual productions and 'if you're in Georgia you should come for $5 a ticket' is certainly not notable.

I don't have an account so could someone put this down - Coedcae comprehensive school, Llanelli is doing it at the end of October 2007. 30th May 2007

quo[d]te erat demonstrandum

[edit]

Shouldn't there be a wikiquote with lines from this show. There are some that are really quite good. 30th May 2007

Synopsis

[edit]

Shouldn't the plot summary be a little bit more detailled? My English isn't good enough to write a complete synopsis myself but I don't think that the one that's here now is really good or satisfying.

We Will Rock You - in Australia

[edit]

Anyone know when "We Will Rock You" will return to Sydney Australia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.58.40 (talk) 12:01, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not anytime soon that I can make out. I might be wrong, though. Annie D (talk) 01:43, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Varberg production

[edit]

I reverted an addition of the "Varberg, Sweden" production in 2007, because as far as I can tell from the official Queen website, this isn't one of the official Queen Theatrical productions. It may be an externally licensed production. If this was a mistake on my part, I apologise, and please restore and add a supporting citation. Annie D (talk) 00:25, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was externally licensed, but it still is an international production. I thought the goal on here was to mention all international productions, regardless of the licensing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.10.205 (talk) 22:36, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I'll add it to the other productions section. Annie D (talk) 02:52, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Australasia != Asia

[edit]

None of Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand are in Australasia.

Also, the Singapore dates are incorrect; it closes here on April 13. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.12.149.130 (talk) 11:48, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a citation for the April 13 closing, that's great, but the lunchbox production website and the sistic ticket vendor website say it'll close on April 27. As for "Australasia" -- yeah, that's misleading, but that's how they've named the tour on the Queen website. If you have a better suggestion, please feel free to edit the page. Annie D (talk) 12:21, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake; sistic is correct of course. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.12.149.130 (talk) 06:12, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Change in producers

[edit]

Article edits had made it seem like David and Ed Mirvish and The Kimsa Group were producers for the show's whole history. They were only co-producers for the Toronto production. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.64.58.156 (talk) 07:56, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Critics Section.

[edit]

The critics section is a bit biased..... And you only got negative reviews from them. But the musical did very well and it's popular.

It was even a big success in Australia, so why not add in some positive critic reaction sometime? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamaluigibob (talkcontribs) 09:49, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Find some positive reviews and I'll be happy to add it to the article. Annie D (talk) 10:15, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reincarnations?

[edit]

How is Galileo revealed to be a reincarnation of Freddie Mercury, and how is Scaramouche a reincarnation of Brian May? 59.183.2.132 (talk) 16:44, 21 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.183.58.11 (talk) [reply]

Don't understand how either get considered to be reincarnations but I think with Scaramouche it's due to the line 'The hairy rock God has returned...and this time he's a woman'. Although clearly that's just a pube joke and not a reveal that Scara = Brian May. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.222.218.96 (talk) 19:10, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If Galileo and Scaramouche are reincarnations of real people, then shouldn't this be in the category, Reincarnation? BulsaraAndDeacon (talk) 08:25, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The majority of the contents of the cast list are not notable, much less even sourced even if they were notable enough for inclusion. WP:Indiscriminate. Original cast(s) and notable replacements should be included on the main page from the list, and the list should then be PROD/AFD subsequently. Aaron Booth (talk) 21:37, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I understand everyone wants "their cast" and its been to over 17 countries, so I do understand having a list like this, but can it be folded back in to the main article using a collapsible table like the Arena Tour? That way the information is there without the page getting too long. And yes - it badly needs referencing - I hate thinking of names (talk) 23:38, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
