[edit]When the title of the comic changed from "West Coast Avengers" to "Avengers West Coast", did the name of the team change within the comic? Or was it a purely non-diegetic change? ThatGuamGuy 21:15, 14 September 2007 (UTC)sean Well, it was in conjuction with the merge of both Coast teams into one (See Avenger 305 or so) with two bases and having a single author (John Byrne). The title change was based on the fact that other writers were over looking crossing over with the West Coast branch which some time out sold the Avengers (East Coast title) and in comic stores that places comics on the shelf alphabetically with the name change(s) (Solo Avengers became Avengers Spotlight at the same time.) would allow all Avengers titles to be place on the racks together. Marvel had considered renaming the Avengers to East Coast Avengers but they didn't want to "down grade" the strength of that title by making similar to second string style title.
