Redirect discussion
[edit]@PaulinSaudi: With regards to your revert comment, see WP:BRD. I was bold and redirected it, you reverted it, and now it's time to discuss.
This article does not satisfy the notability guidelines for organizations, WP:ORG. Out of the four sources, two are primary sources linking to the department or city's website, one is local news reporting on a new police chief (WP:AUD), and one is a memorial page (WP:MEMORIAL). None establish notability under the notability guidelines.
There is another citation in West Valley City, Utah § Government mentioning the 2013 corruption scandal, which seems notable. In a few pages of a web search, I have found one additional instance of (possibly) significant coverage, which I've added to the West Valley City page. But the notability requirements require multiple instances of significant coverage, and this is only two. If you have a connection to this place, maybe you can find more.
Ultimately, like most police departments for a city of this size, I believe this department can be adequately covered in a section on the city's page. -Apocheir (talk) 22:09, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- I am by my nature an inclusionist. I hold all law enforcement agencies are notable prima face. Others may disagree. Perhaps you ought to move this content to the Valley City article, as long as we do not lose any content. How does that sound? PaulinSaudi (talk) 15:31, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm OK with that solution. Even if something is notable, it may be better off as a section on another page instead of a permanent stub article. Do you want to take care of the merge, or should I? -Apocheir (talk) 22:51, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
