[edit]Removing the comment "Note come to this place and abandon all hope". Having lived here I can sympathise with what's being said, but it's not a NPOV.
I know that technically Wheldrake is in the City of York but I feel that it gives the wrong impression of its essentially rural location.Perhaps a change of sentence order would give a better picture.Harkey Lodger 18:51, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
The Wenlock Arms link is quite misleading as it links to the Grey Horse Inn at Elvington near York. Does this need removing?Harkey Lodger 10:59, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm into giving the page a makeover but will leave existing text then incorporate it into new sections as I type them.Harkey Lodger 18:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
I shall now try to find suitable images.Harkey Lodger 15:21, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
The latest edit( This named Wheldrake Ings, one mile from the centre of the village west, where many wild flowers flurish and rare birds prosper.)is a little superfluous as mention is made of the fact in the Natural History section. The Ings are east of the village of Wheldrake not west. Also,I think the comment needs to be modified to correct spelling and grammar.--Harkey Lodger 13:52, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
References for recent changes
[edit]This is a big improvement on what was here, but can somebody insert references for recent changes to this page? Just quickly looking through it I'm curious about where some the stats/history came from:
- Electoral results (which will need to be updated over the next few years)
- Population/average age
This should be fairly easy while it's still fresh in the Author's mind.
193.95.162.5 13:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- The references are in the references section at the foot of the page. They are linked to the websites where they can be found so may have been mistaken for links---sorry. I'm still working on it so please suggest any other improvements.Harkey Lodger 16:37, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I still don't actually see where the information came from; The Politics section only has one reference which is to "http://www.york.gov.uk" - the home page to the City Council. I don't see anything on this site giving election results (including the historical stuff) for either the York City Council or the Member of Parliament. 193.95.162.5 13:32, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Try "Local Democracy" then "Elections" links on the Home page or follow http://www.york.gov.uk/elections. I didn't put this in as the pages within websites often change their exact URL's.Harkey Lodger 11:04, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I see it :^) If they keep changing their site then the reference is best kept as it is. 193.95.162.5 18:49, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
