Will review this soon. Cheers, Sainsf (talk · contribs) 06:49, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Here are my comments: Sainsf (talk · contribs) 17:50, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • The Wignacourt Arch known as the Fleur-De-Lys Gate Italics is typically used for foreign language terms. This should probably use bold or inverted commas
Original arch
  • Source for 1st para?
  • Place ref. 1 at the end of the line if it supports the whole line. As of now it is not clear what it is the source for.
  • Consider using Template:Multiple image for the two images of the plaque writing.
  • Combine the last line in "Destruction" with the first para of the subsection
  • "Fountain" looks too common to be linked
Reconstruction
  • A plaque with the coat of arms of Birkirkara and the following inscription was installed to commemorate the reconstruction Source?
  • @Sainsf: I just edited the article and made most of the above changes. I have a couple of comments:
  • re the lead, I was actually unsure regarding which wording to use. Could the article start The Wignacourt Arch known as the Fleur-De-Lys Gate (Maltese: L-Arkata ta' Wignacourt magħrufa bħala l-Bieb ta' Fleur-De-Lys) is an ornamental arch..., since the two names currently in bold are both parts of the official name?
  • Yes, that looks like a much better start.
  • Ref 1 is placed after "Baroque" since it was the only source I could find which describes the archway as Baroque.
  • Alright.
  • I cannot find a source regarding the plaque commemorating the reconstruction, but the plaque is pictured in the article so I don't really see the need for a source in this case.
  • It is pictured, but a source is needed nevertheless. Analyzing things from an image may even look like WP:SYN to some. You should consider finding a source or omitting this part.
Thanks for taking time to review this article. Best regards, Xwejnusgozo (talk) 19:06, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the changes, responded. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 07:02, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Sainsf: I changed the lead as stated above. Regarding the plaque, I don't think any source is available (it was only installed just over a month ago). Since the two original plaques are also included in the article, I saw no reason not to include it. I don't see how the plaque is WP:SYN; it is just a copy of the text of the plaque (clearly visible in the image) and a translation from Maltese to English, and I did not use the text to make any conclusions etc. Xwejnusgozo (talk) 15:23, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I see. If there are no sources available yet for something evident we can allow for this, just be on a lookout for sources to support this as it won't be god to have this littered with "citation needed" tags. Alright, I think this can be promoted now. Good job! Sainsf (talk · contribs) 15:27, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
